Description
Da Wu Ye (大乌叶), translating to "Big Dark Leaf" in Chinese, refers to a cultivar known for its larger and darker green leaves compared to other Dancong varieties. Originating from the Shangjiao village of Fenghuang town and bred in the 1950s, this particular tea comes directly from its birthplace. Much like the renowned Ya Shi Xiang, Da Wu Ye is celebrated for its exceptionally high fragrance. Xue Pian, also known as Snowflake, represents the fifth harvest of the year, symbolizing the winter harvest for dancong teas. During this season, specific cultivars like Da Wu Ye and Ya Shi Xiang bravely endure the cold weather, allowing them to sprout and yield a distinctive Snowflake dancong tea. Winter harvest dancong is known for its remarkable aroma, but its annual production is lower than the spring harvest. Lightly roasted to perfection, this Xue Pian Da Wu Ye has a delightful floral fragrance, complemented by a sweet and enduring flavor. This tea differs from the Liu Xue Da Wu Ye featured in our March 2023 tea club, which originated from the sixth (and final) harvest of the 2022 production cycle.
