Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your MyTeaPal account and what happens when you do. It's here so you can read it without signing in — for example from the Google Play or App Store listing.

How to delete your account

In the app (recommended). Open the Me tab, tap the settings icon in the top right, then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Confirm by typing DELETE.

On the web. Sign in at myteapal.com/account and choose Delete account. This requires signing in — it's not possible from this page.

By email. Email support@myteapal.com from the address on your account, or otherwise tell us the email address your account is registered under, and ask us to delete it.

If you have an active Club membership, cancel it from Manage Billing (in the app or on the web) before deleting your account — an active subscription blocks deletion.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes your Firebase Auth login and then, automatically, your data: your profile (name, handle, avatar, bio), tea and teaware collection, brew logs, posts, comments, likes, friend connections, and uploaded photos. Your contact record in our email tool (Brevo) is removed too, so you stop receiving marketing email from us.

Posts you already made public, shared with friends (TeaPals), or linked to a Club tea may still show your name and avatar as they were at the time you posted — we don't retroactively edit content other people have already seen.

What we keep, and why

Consistent with our Privacy Policy, we keep billing and shipping records for as long as tax, accounting, or dispute rules require — deleting your MyTeaPal account does not delete those. Stripe, who processes Club payments, keeps its own transaction records for the same reason, independent of anything in our own database. Carriers and customs brokers who shipped Club boxes to you may similarly retain their own delivery records.

How long it takes

Your login is removed immediately — you're signed out and can no longer access the account. Your other data is then cleared automatically, typically within a few minutes.

This can't be undone

Account deletion is permanent. We can't recover your library, brew logs, posts, or any other account data once it's gone, so make sure you're ready before you confirm.
