Join Vincent Liu, founder of MyTeaPal, and Gong Mengyan, founder of Teasthetic, for a special Gong Fu Cha gathering in New York!

As part of Vincent's travels across the United States, we're bringing together the MyTeaPal and Teasthetic communities for a relaxed morning of Chinese specialty tea and conversation. Vincent and Mengyan will each brew a tea of their choice, sharing the stories, origins, and craftsmanship behind their selections. Between cups, we'll exchange experiences, explore our shared love of tea, and get to know fellow tea enthusiasts.

More than just a tea tasting, this gathering is an opportunity to connect with like-minded tea lovers, discover new perspectives, and make new friends in the community. Whether you're an experienced Gong Fu Cha enthusiast or just beginning to explore Chinese specialty tea, you're welcome to join us.

What to Expect

• Two Teas, Two Perspectives: Enjoy two distinctive Chinese teas, one oolong tea selected and brewed by Mengyan and a 1970s Liu Bao by Vincent, and discover what makes each selection special.
• Gong Fu Cha & Tea Exploration: Experience traditional Chinese brewing with multiple infusions, and join informal conversations about tea origins, processing, tasting, and brewing.
• Tea Community Connection: Meet fellow enthusiasts from the Teasthetic and MyTeaPal communities, share your experiences, and make new tea friends.

About the Co-host

Gong Mengyan is a New York-based tea artist who has studied Chinese tea since 2015. A student of Chinese tea master Li Shuyun, she has been hosting tea gatherings in NYC since 2022 and founded Teasthetic in 2023 to share Chinese tea culture with the local community.

About the Space

Teasthetic is a tea studio near Union Square in New York City, founded by Gong Mengyan to share Chinese tea culture through tea gatherings and experiences.

Registration

As a special collaboration between MyTeaPal and Teasthetic, this gathering is offered free of charge to bring our tea communities together and introduce more people to Chinese specialty tea.

I first got into tea in 2016, when I started taking tea lessons and became certified as a tea art specialist. In 2017, I founded Duke CommuniTEA and began hosting weekly tea gatherings at Duke University. What started as a way to share Chinese tea with friends grew into a lifelong passion for tea culture and connecting people through tea. I founded MyTeaPal in 2020, and it's now a global tea app and community with over 35,000 users in 100+ countries. I've hosted tea events in 7 countries across 20+ cities, and I help administer the Gong Fu Cha Facebook group, one of the largest online communities dedicated to Chinese tea. Since returning to China in 2021, I've traveled extensively through its tea-producing regions, learning directly from producers. A Duke graduate and Schwarzman Scholar with a master's in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, I love seeing people from different backgrounds come together over a shared pot of tea, exchange stories, and discover something new.
