Join Vincent Liu, founder of MyTeaPal, for a special Gong Fu Cha gathering at Banpo Tea in Belmont! As part of his travels across the United States, Vincent is bringing together local tea enthusiasts to share a selection of exceptional Chinese specialty teas from his sourcing journeys through China's tea-producing regions. We'll taste several carefully selected teas, explore the stories and craftsmanship behind them, and exchange experiences around the tea table. More than just a tea tasting, this gathering is an opportunity to connect with fellow tea lovers, discover new perspectives, and make new friends in the tea community. Whether you're an experienced Gong Fu Cha enthusiast or just beginning to explore Chinese specialty tea, you're welcome to join us. What to expect • Specialty Chinese tea tasting: several distinctive teas selected and sourced by Vincent, with stories about their origins, producers, and craftsmanship. • Gong Fu Cha and tea exploration: traditional Chinese brewing with multiple infusions, and informal conversation about tea processing, tasting, and brewing. • Tea community connection: meet fellow tea enthusiasts, share your experiences, and make new friends over tea. Vincent has spent nearly a decade hosting tea gatherings, in 20+ cities across 7 countries. This gathering is hosted in collaboration with Banpo Tea, a private tea space in Belmont Center. We're excited to bring the local tea community and MyTeaPal members together for an afternoon of tea and conversation. We'll share the exact address with confirmed guests. I first got into tea in 2016, when I started taking tea lessons and became certified as a tea art specialist. In 2017, I founded Duke CommuniTEA and began hosting weekly tea gatherings at Duke University. What started as a way to share Chinese tea with friends grew into a lifelong passion for tea culture and connecting people through tea. I founded MyTeaPal in 2020, and it's now a global tea app and community with over 35,000 users in 100+ countries. I've hosted tea events in 7 countries across 20+ cities, and I help administer the Gong Fu Cha Facebook group, one of the largest online communities dedicated to Chinese tea. Since returning to China in 2021, I've traveled extensively through its tea-producing regions, learning directly from producers. A Duke graduate and Schwarzman Scholar with a master's in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University, I love seeing people from different backgrounds come together over a shared pot of tea, exchange stories, and discover something new.
