Description
Nanlie village is in the southwest side of Menghai county. This tea is made from tea trees that are 200-250 years old, thus qualifying as a gushu (ancient tree) tea. It’s the first flush harvest in the spring of 2021, with one bud two leaves picking standard. Most of the time, the first picking of Yunnan’s gushu trees is made into sheng puerh for its greater market value. However, this producer thinks differently. He experimented making white tea using materials from many villages and eventually decided those from Nanlie is the best for producing gushu white tea. After the withering stage, tea leaves are sun-dried rather than baked dry indoors, which is conducive to further aging. This natural processing technique highlights the floral and fruity aroma of this tea. This tea is bolder and stronger in Qi than a typical Yunnan white tea, yet its texture is soft. It can be steeped for many infusions and will leave a long-lasting sweet sensation in your mouth. One cake of this tea weighs 357 grams.
