Description
Jian'ou Ruan Zhi Oolong (建瓯软枝乌龙) is grown from mature trees of approximately 30 to 40 years old in an original ecological tea garden at 1000 meters elevation. The soil is naturally weathered rocky earth loose, well aerated, and rich in minerals with the trees rooting deeply into rock crevices to draw nourishment from the earth. Perpetual mountain mist and dramatic day-to-night temperature swings create ideal conditions for the tea to accumulate rich inner compounds. Harvested annually in early May 2025 and processed using traditional Beiyuan ancient oolong methods: withering, careful rolling and shaking, moderate oxidation, followed by light charcoal baking. The aroma is elegantly pure, dominated by delicate gardenia notes interwoven with long lasting orchid fragrance clean, high, and lingering with no off notes. The liquor is golden yellow, bright and crystal clear, with a silky smooth, refreshing mouthfeel that is completely free of bitterness. It delivers a swift yet persistent sweet aftertaste accompanied by a subtle cool rocky mineral note, fully expressing the gentle, lively, and authentic character of high mountain Ruan Zhi Oolong.
