Description
Huang Guan Yin (黄观音) cultivar is a hybrid between Huang Dan and Tie Guan Yin, developed around the year of 1990. Both of its parent varietals are from Anxi county of southern Fujian province and are suitable for making oolong teas (Huang Jin Gui and Iron Goddess, respectively). Huang Guan Yin combines the advantages of these two varietals, having the rhyme of Tie Guan Yin and the aroma of Huang Dan. Rock teas made from Huang Guan Yin have a special floral and fruity flavor like that of Rou Gui, but not as sharp. Therefore, it is very popular among tea drinkers. This tea is from Yan Zi Ke Ecological Tea Garden of Wuyishan. During the fine-processing stage, it is baked with charcoal to the medium level.
