Description
This An Ji Bai Cha (安吉白茶) was harvested and made on March 29, 2022 in the core production area - Shijiao village. It’s a famous style of Chinese green tea, with the name "Bai Cha" ironically translating to White Tea. Its cultivar, Bai Ye Yi Hao (白叶一号, or White Leaf #1), is a special, mutated cultivar "discovered" in 1982. Due to the low amount of chlorophyll, its buds appear to be more white than green in the early spring and only turn fully green in the summer. Compared with most green teas, it contains a higher amino acid content and lower polyphenol content, making the taste refreshing without astringency.

Shipped in April 2022
