Flash-steep the second infusion (pour out immediately), then increase steeping time by 5–10 seconds with each subsequent infusion. - Partial packet: 1 g : 25 ml. Start with a 15-second infusion, then increase steeping time by 5–10 seconds with each subsequent infusion. Description
This Tie Guan Yin was produced by Lin Yongyuan from a south-facing garden on Shimen Mountain in Gande, Anxi, at approximately 825 meters. The garden lies below steep rocky slopes with weathered stone-derived soil. Its Hong Xin Wai Wei Tao tea bushes are maintained without excessive low pruning, and Lin reports occasional organic or farmyard fertilization rather than chemical fertilizers, alongside manual weed management. The leaves were selectively hand-picked on October 9, 2026, and processed the following day using traditional zheng chao (正炒) methods. Careful withering, repeated tossing and resting, and multiple rounds of rolling shape the tea while preserving the fragrant character of the cultivar. Named Shui Sheng Xiang (水生香), this selection is particularly notable for what Lin describes as fragrance emerging naturally from the tea liquor itself. Its profile combines fresh sweetness, a silky, almost oil-like texture, and layered orchid aromas. Rather than emphasizing a single outstanding characteristic, Lin considers its greatest strength to be the harmony between fragrance, texture, sweetness, and lingering finish.
