Description
This sheng pu’er was made in spring 2025 from 200+ year-old ancient trees in Mangang Village, Lincang. The garden sits around 1750 meters in a high-mountain environment where Yunnan large-leaf trees grow together with local purple tea and Teng Tiao (vine-trained) tea, giving the material a naturally diverse character. Compared with the Mangang white tea in this month’s box, this tea was picked slightly earlier and includes more tender bud-and-leaf material. It was processed as traditional sheng pu’er: sun-withering, wood-fired iron-wok kill-green, full hand-rolling, and sun-drying. The tea brews a clear yellow-green liquor with orchid-like fragrance, honey sweetness, and a bright, lively structure. It still carries the freshness of young sheng, but the sweetness and ancient-tree depth already make it approachable. With further aging, its mountain character should become more pronounced, moving gradually toward woody and herbal notes.
