Steeping instructions: Portion: Use one dragon ball (~8 grams) per serving. Halve with a tea knife if you prefer a lighter flavor. Water Temperature: Use boiling water at 100°C (212°F) for all steps. Vessel: A gaiwan is recommended over a teapot for faster pouring and better control. Rinse: Rinse for 30 seconds before the first infusion. Steeping: For the first three infusions, steep for 30s, 20s, and 10s. For subsequent infusions, use flash steeping, gradually increasing the time as the flavor lightens. Each dragon ball can last through 10 or more infusions.

Description: The 2022 Teng Tiao GuShu Raw Pu-erh originates from the high mountains of Banuo in Lincang, where tea trees grow at an elevation of around 1800 meters. Over many generations, these trees have been cultivated using a unique, traditional method in which branches grow horizontally and can stretch over several meters. This cultivation technique, known as "leave-top nurturing," directs the tree's energy into the top leaves, enhancing their thickness and nutrient content. In early spring, the tea is harvested from these ancient trees and processed using traditional methods: withered, pan-fried, rolled, sun-dried, and hand-rolled into dragon balls. Teng Tiao Pu-erh is known for its robust flavor and strong qi (vital energy), characterized by a deep, lingering sweetness and a powerful, long-lasting finish. The unique growing and harvesting methods contribute to its intense, complex profile, offering a bold and full-bodied experience. The use of traditional cultivation methods, coupled with the region’s ideal growing conditions, makes this tea a distinctive and exceptional choice for those seeking a rich and invigorating pu-erh.

Enjoying this tea in an early morning session with Pascal for tea club! Brewing at a lower temperature today (190F). Definitely a high energy tea, with a more robust flavor. Not too bitter at this temperature.
