Steeping instructions
Portion: Use one dragon ball (~8 grams) per serving. Halve with a tea knife if you prefer a lighter flavor. Water Temperature: Use boiling water at 100°C (212°F) for all steps. Vessel: A gaiwan is recommended over a teapot for faster pouring and better control. Rinse: Rinse for 30 seconds before the first infusion. Steeping: For the first three infusions, steep for 30s, 20s, and 10s. For subsequent infusions, use flash steeping, gradually increasing the time as the flavor lightens. Each dragon ball can last through 10 or more infusions.

The 2022 Da Xue Shan GuShu Raw Pu-erh is a standout selection from the high-altitude tea gardens of Bangdong in Lincang, where tea trees grow wild at over 2000 meters above sea level. In early spring, the tea is harvested from ancient trees surrounded by old-growth forests, far from human habitation, allowing the trees to thrive in a pristine environment. This tea is processed using traditional methods—withered, pan-fried, rolled, sun-dried, and hand-rolled into dragon balls—to preserve its natural purity. Da Xue Shan, or "Big Snow Mountain," is known for producing pu-erh with a distinctive floral, sweet, and clean profile. The high altitude and remote location contribute to the tea’s vibrant huigan (returning sweetness) and long-lasting aroma. The crisp, clear liquor and serene yet invigorating taste of this tea make it a favorite among those who appreciate the delicate complexity of Lincang’s pu-erh. The combination of high elevation, ancient trees, and meticulous processing results in a tea that is both refined and robust.
