Sichuan Black Teas
Welcome to March 2022 MyTeaPal Club! This month we conclude our 3-month Sichuan tea series with 5 black teas from 3 producers. Besides Yun He Shan (featured in Jan & Feb 2022 Club) and Tea Culture Institute of Wu Lizhen (featured in Jan 2022 Club), we introduce a new producer to you all: Chuan Hong Group. Located in Yibin city, Ya’an, they have been producing black tea and selling overseas since many decades ago, and their president is a recipient of the national level tea-making master in the sixth batch. This month’s club includes a Chuan Hong Gongfu scented with three different flowers, a black tea made with Sichuan’s native cultivar, a Jin Jun Mei made with Ya’an grown Mei Zhan cultivar, and an A/B tasting set for Chuan Hong (lit. Sichuan Red), for which you can try comparing the differences. Hope you enjoy all the teas!
