This Long Jing (龙井) was harvested and made on March 28, 2022 in Bashan village of Hangzhou. It is a pan-fried green tea, which takes on distinctly flat leaves during the frying process.
Directly translated to Dragon Well, it takes its name from the eponymous Long Jing Spring at the Long Jing Village near West Lake, a famous freshwater lake in Hangzhou. In the 1700s, Long Jing impressed the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty and became well-known. To this day, it is still considered as one of the most famous Chinese teas, and possibly the most famous Chinese green tea.

I usually love this tea but I’m only tasting a lot of raw and bitter. A sure sign that this isn’t right match for the status of my body in fall.

Lovely vegetal notes. Subtle Umami emerged immediately for me. Minerality increased slightly with each brew. By the 4th brew, the pan-fried flavors and aroma began to come through.… more

I wanted to like this tea, but it's not really for me! The taste is mostly bitter spinach that shifts metallic. It's very light in color without much smell.
